Emergency surgery is an important area of our emergency preparedness and care at Pet ER 24/7 which we bring to address a range of urgent surgical diseases. At Pet ER 24/7 we address evolving and highly dynamic soft tissue surgeries, trauma and the neurocritical.
Soft tissue surgery involves procedures that address issues with internal organs, the respiratory system, the skin and other acutely evolving soft organ system disease processes.
At Pet ER 24/7 we also address the polytrauma patient category such as blunt trauma as a result of motor vehicle accidents, a fall from a height, animal–animal interactions, human–animal interactions or fire exposure, where we prioritize and stage our tactical care delivery approach to curb highly dynamic, escalating, and life threatening organ systems diseases such as cavitary mechanisms (chest and abdomen), circulatory (bleeding), neurocritical (traumatic brain injury and spine), and parallel simple & complex bone fractures and unstable joint mechanisms.
Emergency and neurocritical spine is also another urgent surgical disease process we address at Pet ER 24/7; and we bring to your pet a timely and convenient management of the dynamic spine disease (trauma or slipped disc) during day and night emergency hours when time is the essence, utilizing strategic imaging (CT MRI), telemedicine expert imaging review and neurolocalization. Urgent and dynamic spine diseases which require surgery are addressed within the hour or two at Pet ER 24/7 both day and night time. Other urgent and neurocritical spine or traumatic brain injuries which do not require surgery are addressed within the confines of our dedicated ICU utilizing once again CT and MRI, novel cooling and external ventricular drain (bedside procedure) to control fluid pressure within the skull.
Emergency surgery at Pet ER 24/7 is completed under general anesthesia, and the pet is carefully monitored throughout the procedure and during the recovery period. The objective of emergency surgery at Pet ER 24/7 is to address evolving and dynamic surgical diseases that cannot wait, and meet life sustaining physiological targets and imperatives, soon after the distressed pet begins showing symptoms of surgical disease, all of which as quickly as possible and without undue delay. We do so at Pet ER 24/7 anytime of the day and night.
